Snow White and the Huntsman review

Posted : 11 years, 10 months ago on 16 June 2012 11:30 (A review of Snow White and the Huntsman)

This is the a review that I can say is one that I expected. The cast and the story is great. the actors made it the roles work. The actions, locations, and special effects were great.

That is not what this review is about. It was suggested to me not to take my 6 year old daughter to this film. It was to violent, bloody, and gore. We got through the whole movie and I left saying this could have been PG and there was quick action but nothing that would scare her. I think people have to think before they do this but if the child can be at a movie and the content is not bad then it should be ok.

The story actually helped my daughter understand the idea of the violent acts and the action needed.

The Vow review

Posted : 11 years, 11 months ago on 21 May 2012 11:08 (A review of The Vow)

This movie was one that supposed me from the start and one that I actually loved. The theme was one that showed loved can conquer all. I would like she said in the movie, if I could find the love you have for me I would be lucky. I am not sure how this story is true but it is a feel good but gut wrenching affair. You had to feel for his guy and the love of his life.

The Avengers review

Posted : 11 years, 11 months ago on 20 May 2012 02:33 (A review of The Avengers)

This was a good film but I think that about 20 mins of story could have been cut. The action was great and the story lines were formed well. It was a great start to the group of summer films to come.

Act of Valor review

Posted : 12 years, 1 month ago on 19 March 2012 12:24 (A review of Act of Valor)

My fiance and I went to see this epic movie this weekend. It was my pick for the movie and I was sure it would not be her type of movie. I was told by a friend that you had to go see it. he said it was what he faced as a special forces soldier. The movie was raw and had a hard edge to it.

I think it shows the special forces soldiers as they are. They have families and responsibilities in life and want as the movie said always go home. This movie also shows the threat that we face from the people that would like to harm us. It is amazing what certain soldiers put themselves in harms way to protect us.

We all need to thank the soldiers that protect us everyday. In fact, I think it should be a required watch for all Americans to see. In a time that we would rather criticize our leaders, we need to understand that there are people in trenches with boots on the ground to protect us. These are the people that give us the right to have a difference of opinions.

Do them and yourself a favor and see this movie.

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island review

Posted : 12 years, 1 month ago on 3 March 2012 04:44 (A review of Journey 2: The Mysterious Island )

I have to say this was one kids movie I wanted to see and thought would be good. the interesting thing about the film was that it left more for the adults than the kids. It was a great tie between classic books we all read in school. I think it was great in 3D IMax. The movie was interesting on the thought sight and sound level.

It made you believe the character like Dwayne johnson, Michael Caine, Vanessa Hudgens, and Josh Hutcherson. It is amazing that you can go into a kids film and think you got more out of it than they did. This one you do and is worth seeing.

We Bought a Zoo review

Posted : 12 years, 3 months ago on 14 January 2012 10:41 (A review of We Bought a Zoo)

I know that I am an admitted lover of movies of this type but this one was one that did not disappoint. Cameron Crowe has a masterpiece of current films. He selected a great cast with with the story line to go with them. Scarlett played a role that created her as one of the best in the business today. We have seen her play all types of roles but this one was one that you could see her an ordinary lady with a big heart. Matt plays a role that I do not believe can be recreated. It is so real and raw. The role that stole the show was Rosie played by Maggie Jones. She made the movie.

It was a film that one minute you would cry and next you would be laughing. I know people go to movies to get away from life a a while but this put reality right in your face. You will enjoy every minute of it. We have been given two of these movies this year. Dolphin Tale and We Bought a Zoo. I think this movie was better than dolphin Tale and makes you believe that it only takes 20 seconds of courage to succeed. It is easy to believe anything is possible in life. Thanks to the cast and director for a great movie.

New Year's Eve review

Posted : 12 years, 3 months ago on 28 December 2011 10:23 (A review of New Year's Eve)

This movie was one that I could have slept through and not missed a thing. I was not sure I wanted to see the movie in the first place but now I am very sure. The collections of Actors and actresses should have been a slam dunk. the reality is that it was wrapped around a simple theme, reflect and look forward the future. That would have been great but the acting was subpar and the plot was void of structure. I can not see ever wasting 2 hours of my life again. To cap off a horrible movie is the worst actress of our time Sarah Jessica Parker riding off into the night. Overall, it was a waste of my time and I truly do not want see it again.

The Dilemma review

Posted : 12 years, 4 months ago on 28 November 2011 02:00 (A review of The Dilemma)

I started the movie thinking how could this movie be bad with the cast in it. I was so wrong. It started slow and You had to think that it would pick up. It did not and to be honest the plot was more than thin. It was invisible and the comedy experts in this movie should have at least kept you watching. You watched the whole movie going I wasted my time watching this. Bad movie all the way around.

Dolphin Tale review

Posted : 12 years, 5 months ago on 8 November 2011 02:59 (A review of Dolphin Tale)

I have to say I walked into the movie expecting it to be another kids movie I would have to sit through. The reality was that it was a story that had great actors with an amazing story that happened to be true. I looked over to my fiance and she was crying half way through the movie. I think it is a story that should be told and it was done in a terrific way.

Ashley, Morgan, and Harry made roles down to earth characters come to life. Morgan Freeman did a great job in supporting role. The roles that took over the screen was that of the two kids and the dolphin. I can see a big future for the two kid actors.

I love the tie in of the wounded warriors and the damaged dolphin tail. It was one of those movies you have to see when you think life is hard and you want to give up. It will change your mind. I loved it and I think every parent should take their child to see it once if not more.

No Strings Attached review

Posted : 12 years, 5 months ago on 4 November 2011 04:11 (A review of No Strings Attached)

The first time I saw this movie I thought it was funny and raunchy. It was a date movie for my now fiance and myself. It was a memory that I will have. The acting was funny and it was a sexy look at today world of dating.

I bought the Blue Ray and it made me rethink the idea of dating. It is very similar to the world of dating and relationship today. I came from another generation but I think it is funny to see that this generation is really that way.

The acting was well done and the comedy was great. The funny thing about the movie is that you pull for the characters at the same time you laugh at what they do. I can see that this happens in life.

The thing the movie shows me is that when you find that person that fits you completely it does not have to start as an ideal situation. The movie is better than many people give it credit for.
